<description>I cannot comment on art education in the U.S.A., however can comment on the state of it here in Canada. it has largely disappeared, except for Bnad as a part of the shcool curricula from middle shcool years on. There is no Dance education, little drama, and very little in visual literacy. We are well on the way to produce more consumers, rather than participants and producers. Specialists produce and they are trained later on in the educational process, with little appreciation of the collegial nature of all learning, and of the need to transcend discipline boundaries. This does not bode well for individuals in upcoming generations. We are raising automatons rather than persons funcioning with most of their innate capacities. A huge loss for future societies.
